BEACH SAFETY FOR VISITORS

Gold Coast beaches may be among the most beautiful in the world, but they are not without their dangers.

Visitors don’t always understand the risks associated with our waters or about important safety measures such as our red and yellow flags.

City of Gold Coast lifeguards would like to remind tourism operators and their guests on Gold Coast beaches to:
• Never swim alone or surf at beaches not patrolled by lifeguards or lifesavers.
• Never swim outside the red and yellow flags that mark safe swimming areas.
• Never swim under the influence of alcohol.
• Never swim when the beach is closed
